PRANA is a Sanskrit word for life or breath. According to the Hindu belief system, prana is your life force or vital energy, similar to CHI in traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts, and similar to QI in Japanese martial arts and Zen meditation.


Pranic foods are made up of the pranic diet, an eating pattern that categorizes foods based on how they supposedly affect your vital energy, or prana.


POSITIVE PRANIC FOOD

  • Coconut

  • Dates

  • Nuts and seeds

  • Raw and dried fruits

  • Ripe vegetables

  • Sprouted green grams

  • Whole grains

  • Legumes (peas, beans, lentils, etc.)

  • Cereals (rice, buckwheat, barley, millet, oats, teff, spelt etc.)


NEUTRAL PRANIC FOOD

  • Potato

  • Tomato


NEGATIVE PRANIC FOOD

  • Garlic

  • Onion

  • Chili peppers

  • Eggplant

  • Mushrooms

  • Poppy seeds

  • Vinegar

  • Cacao (cocoa)

  • Coffee

  • Tea

  • Alcohol
